Hi guys,

I just bought and assembled:

P5N-T Deluxe
Q6600
Thermalrite Ultra-120 extreme

All is well BUT whenever I plug my headphones into the green line out jack at the back of the machine the soundmax auto sensing software pops up and tells me to insert the headphones in the FRONT PANEL socket!!?!?

Now my case doesn't have one of these and I can find no way of getting sound out of it!

I have the latest soundmax drivers, the mobo is running 0703 bios, I have tried disabling onboad sound via the bios and also changing the sound driver in the bios to AC97 all to no avail!

Any help please?!?!?

Hi

I have the same board with same BIOS and now use a Creative Labs Xfi sound card. Before putting it in, I did try the onboard sound and as far as I can remember there is a menu item after you have installed the application in windows that disables this feature. By that I mean it gives you a tick option of I think something like "disable front panel jack" or words to that effect.

Hi,

Thanks for that. There is a disable front jack in the bios but that disables the aduio completely! lol

I have got the sound working now but only by telling the auto sensing option that my headphones are in fact rear speakers. A white lie granted by it seems to work.

I will have to get a case with front audio jacks I guess. Tbh My thermalrite cpu heatsink is so big it sticks out the side of my current coolermaster case anyway!

Melks.
