P5Q 12V Connection?

I just received my basic P5Q motherboard today and am just installing it.

I notice on the motherboard, instead of just the 4pin 12V socket, it has the option to uncover 4 more pins for a bigger 8pin socket.

My PSU has the 8pin plug. Do I plug that in? Or is it only needed for something specific?

Someone on another forum informs that if you have the 8pin plug, go for it.

Hi, Just built a new pc with the P5Q and yes as posted above remove the cap and fit an 8 pin for more power to the motherboard, although I do understand that it will still work with just the four pin fitted. Hope this helps.
