Can someone please explain firewire on the P5Q-E?

There seems to be something on the board itself at the I/O ports, but there is also an extra backplate with extra sockets.

What's the difference between these?

Which is better for transferring video off a camera?

Can someone also please explain the different e-SATA sockets?

Many thanks!

On the I/O back plate the firewire port is 6 pin, the firewire port on the extra PCI plate looks like it is 4 pin, I beleive both are the same but wether there is any performance difference I can't say.
My Gigabyte board has both as well and I use 4 pin firewire to 4 pin cable to transfer video from my parents video camera.

The E-SATA sockets are designed with extra notches each side compared with normal internal sata sockets.

I think the 10-1 is the amount of pins on the header were it connects to: 10 pin - 1 = 9 which, when you look on the manual is correct.
_2 part is the 2nd port / connector, first one being on the I/O plate above the E-SATA connector.

Hopefully you see what I mean, I bought the Gigabyte due to the fact it come with the 4 pin and 6 pin as I already had the 4 pin firewire cable.

Many thanks - that seems to make some sense, although why say 10-1, not just 9!! I'm sure there's a good reason, probably a 5x2 block with one blank or something?
