Hi
I recently bought an ASUS P5Q-E mobo & put 4 gig of Patriot viper series 6400 RAM in it, the RAM was a bit of a pain as at 1st I could only get 2 gigs working but after I flashed the mobo all 4 gigs went ok, now I have noticed that my timings are wrong.
I have put the timings in at the manufacturer ratings (4-4-4-12) but my Vista score is still only 5.6 (unchanged). Everything else is on 5.9
Am I expecting too much from these sticks or have I done something wrong?
Current setup
Q6600 (stock speeds)
4 gigs pc6400 4-4-4-12 RAM
P5Q-E Motherboard on 1703 bios
Samsung Spinpoint F1 HDD (500 gig)
My only other question is how easy it is to fit the freezer 7 to this motherboard, I'm a ham fisted chap at the best of times & I have this heatsink on order.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
