Hi
First of all I am new to overclocking, and this is my first new build for over 5 years. I think I have matched the system parts OK but any recommendations are welcome. Quite a lot has changed since I built my last PC.
Case: Jeantech Nitro
Power: Coolermaster Extreme 600W
Motherboard: Asus P5Q Pro
CPU: E7400 with Thermaltake Blue Orb II HS&Fan
GPU: Sapphire HD 4850
Memory: Kingston HyperX 2 x 2 GB PC6400
Hard Disk: Maxtor 500GB
DVD: LG Litescribe RW
Parts were bough mainly on the basis of performace/price ratio but some were bought purely on the fact I found a few bargins ( like the case at £2.97 in PC world ) If there is something out of place with the rest of the system I would replace as more funds become available.
I will use the system for everyday use but also gaming, I am not an avid gamer but recently became interested again and particularly like COD4 and the other FPS multplayers. My question is, does this system need overclocked for the uses mentioned ??? The CPU and GPU are well capable of dealing with anything that I have thrown at it, but are there still benefits to be had by an oc.
If so, then my next question is in the P5Q Pro Bios, where can I change the fsb/memory to 1:1, I cant seem to find this.
Does the E7400 oc well ? I seem to find less info on this cpu than any other.....maybe I should have got a E5200 !
Thanks
