The ethernet connection on the back of the computer is dead. Router works etc, but when i plug in a cable i get no lights.. Vista recently went caput, so ive installed xp. I havnt had any internet connection since ive installed xp, tried lookign around the network settings, but they all say that im not connected. Can't find the original motherboard driver cd, but ive downloaded some from internet, and transfered them to the pc... any ideas?

Sounds like a driver issue. Have you tried downloading a different version, or possibly an older version? Especially if its just since you installed XP. Tried a different cable, and a different port on the router? (Preferably ones confirmed to work, so check with a different pc / laptop.)

I installed my P5Q PRO last Monday and I had exactly the same driver issue. i downloaded the newest drivers and all were fine except the LAN driver which wouldn't work, tried the one from the CD and everything was fine!
On a slightly unrelated note - <3 this board, by far the best I have ever had experience with, in terms of features, layout and ease of use both in BIOS and physically
