Any recommendations with regards to the RAM, been using Corsair, but had a stick fail and since read Corsair doesn't work too well with these boards.

See you're running a Q9550 too. My only other change may be for a H70 cooler

I have had my Q9550 over 3 years now and it's still a great CPU, not looking to replace it till bulldozer comes out. Have you over clocked yours?

I've just sold my 4850x2 and looking at getting a 6970 or a GTX580, which ever is best for the money when the 6900 series comes out.

I have been until a few recent issues, which haven't gone away after going to stock.

Ati 5870 card and hopefully a 1TB drive once the OCUK RMA process has been completed.

Was intending on selling a Noctua HSF for the H70 etc. It's all in a 700D which vibrates and will be sold if I can't stop it vibrating.

Next year plans are leave the PC as is, sell some of my race RC gear and start saving for a BMW 130i and my mortgage renew etc.

If you can not sort out your case vibrating and sell it, I can recommend the Coolmaster 690 II Adv.

Also have you tried a modded bios? I've been running a modded bios for about 18 months now and found I got a better OC with lower settings. But with all bios updates theirs a risk of screwing up your mobo.

No I have tried the modded BIOS and won't be until it's stable again under stock conditions.

Im currently using 4gb Geil Black Dragon 1066mhz but one of my sticks is faulty. I've had 4gb Kingston HyperX 1066mhz in there working fine too and 2gb OCZ 1066mhz at one point working fine. DDR2 seems to be hard to come by now though and expensive, just get whatever you can find, it should work fine

I would just get 4GB at it's current price, I bought mine when it was £38 for 4GB.

So glad I bought it when I did, I would buy 4GB and buy a SSD instead of getting another 4GB.

Think this is what I'll try and get. Sell the Corsair RAM on etc. Prob go 4GB although was tempted with 8GB

I got 1066mhz 4GB .. but as CPU OC'd @ 4ghz, set to 844mhz ... now added other 2GB (total 6GB) so far can't see any difference in 800mhz vs 1066mhz and 4GB vs 6GB, well, I don't do any heavy Video editing,etc. ... I think 4GB more then Enough!

I ran 4GB (2x2GB) of Kingston HyperX PC2-8500 in this board with no problems.

My other thought at the moment after buying some DDR3 by mistake (it was late and I was on the eBay iphone app). Is to change the motherboard and CPU etc. to an AMD based one.

Looking at 2 x KHX8500D2/2G at the mo, but have read issues with these sticks

Have been looking for 1066 RAM, but now thinking PC6400 would prob be ok!

Yeah, you'll get by with 6400 just fine, but if you're clocking very high, 8500 might be worth it.

I quite like AM3, but you're not going to see much of an increase in performance unless you go for a 6-core CPU. It's nice an cheap to get a decent board however.

Running at stock at the moment and would like to get back to 3.8GHz.

Indeed, 6 core very nice :)

Other thing holding me back a) car service Saturday :(
