I updated my bios from the asus site, and ever since my system stalls before post. I press the power button and everything starts up, except my powersupply fan, after about 10 seconds it starts, monitor comes on, and the computer continues like nothing has happened. Happens on both starting from cold and restarting.

Thing is though, asus site lists 0506 as the first bios released for this board, but im nearly sure mine was something different.

Any ideas what the problem is?

Did you update the BIOS with the ASUS Update tool through Windows?
Are you running Vista 64?

Best take a look at THIS

I really do hope you haven't corrupted the BIOS.

AHHHH crap. Will it be ok if i flash it again with the floppy? They should have a warning for this on the software!!!

Mine has a pause as well though nothing like 10 seconds, more like 3 seconds. I just assumed it's the way the board initializes the hardware as there's definitely nothing wrong.

I couldn't tell you yes or no to that.
Does it show the updated version number?
If it POST's and runs fine, just leave it now and follow the guide on the website for next time.
Remember the BIOS should be updated only when really necessary to avoid corruption.
