Reyt peeps,I have bought a P5Q3 Deluxe on saturday,And i should get it on tuesday.

Now i have already started a topic on what ram to go for,And in the end i was going with...

OCZ 4GB DDR3 PC3-10666C7 1333MHz Platinum (2x2GB) Dual Channel DDR3 (OCZ3P13334GK)

But upon reading many other reviews in other forums too.A lot of peeps are having a lot of trouble with this mobo with ram,Peeps have been saying that ocz ram does not work with asus ddr3 mobo's (even though on the asus website the qvl list says they support it :/ ) and when they install vista sp1 the startup screen comes on,then everything locks or freezes on them ( and cannot get it to work what so ever)

And not one person who has the mobo say's if they got it working with any other brand of ram.

I'm starting to worry that i might have just paid £150 for a mobo that isn't going to work.

Maybe i should have gone with the P5Q Pro (as i was going to 1st)

Any comments on this would be much appreciated,Even more so from a P5Q3 Deluxe owner (just to put my mind at rest) what type of ram they are using and if the computer is stable with what they are running. Many thx in advance :)

You can always phone up OCUK this morning and swap to the P5Q Pro, and then get yourself some cheaper DDR II ram too, such as:

GeIL 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Black Dragon DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GB24GB6400C4DC) £61.01inc.

I'd like to know about this aswell, as I was planning on buying the P5Q3 soon, aswell as not DDR3 memory but; OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Reaper HPC Enhanced Bandwidth Edition Dual Channel DDR2 (OCZ2RPR800C44GK) memory.

There gonna be any problem with this?

I spent £350 on a P5Q3 and 4GB of DDR3 and it went back the same week. Couldn't even get it to stay alive long enough for me to burn my OS to disk.

Totally useless. And that was two months ago. Apparently Asus still haven't fixed it.

Good luck with the board, but I'd just return it and get something else tbh.
