I have installed 2 twinned sets of 1GB Corsair XMS2 6400 in this MB (ie 4GB in total). However on post the MB reports PC2-5700. All memory parameters in the BIOS are currently set to Auto and hence I would expect it to report 6400. Do I need to manually set the speed or is this indicative of a problem?

Not used that board much, but try to set it manually, it may just be programmed to boot things at a conservative setting for compatibaility sake, could also be because you're using all 4 slots. Also, before you change to 6400 speeds, make sure its set at rated voltage and latency timings.

Thanks for the responses, It'll be first time fiddling timings manually so what do I need to check is 'in line' with manually changing to 6400?

its quite simple to do...
get to the timings menu in bios and just do as follows:

4
4
4
12
4

and leave it at that if your keeping it @ 800mhz if set to Auto detect SPD it gives u the wrong timings completely 5-5-5-15-5 or something.

The "posting" memory speed is the actual speed your memory is running at, viz PC-5700 = 356MHz.
