A while back i replaced my psu with corsair 620. ever since then my mobo has decided to randomly get stuck on post. something like Detecting Device 3.... (changed to Device 4 since extra HDD) seen some people have this issue on asus forums where most people say that its a fault and needs to be returned.
I bought it from OCUK almost 2 years ago, will OCUK sort this out for me as ASUS have no direct support and i dont full understand what OCUK meen on there support page with saying "For any Asus product over 12 months old", does that meen to contact them or what.
not sure how to go about this, as i want to sell my pc in a month or so and i want to be able to say it works with no problems and not get spam from the buyer about this.

I have the exact same PSU/motherboard and mine works perfectly and has done so since new. Make sure you have the latest bios and that you have connected the PSU to all the power sockets on the mobo (think there are at least 2 or 3 if you use Crossfire).

mine had the same fault with the latest BIOS.
installing an older BIOS seems to have cleared it tho.

however.... i did have the problem when my old PSU went pop and i installed a corsair 620 like yourself Baz. (i upgraded the BIOS when i replaced the PSU).

either way rolling back to an earlier BIOS fixed it. but sure is an odd coincidence!

When you install a new bios or clear CMOS make sure you follow Asus instructions which are something like:

1: Turn PC off & disconnect power lead from mains (important and most people forget to do this which causes corrupt bioses).

2: Remove CMOS battery.

3: Wait at least 30 secs.

4: Put battery back in.

5: Power PC back on.

6: Reset Bios to defaults immediately.

7: Go back into Bios before booting to OS and adjust the settings to how you had them before then exit the bios and after the PC restarts let it boot to the os.

Double check on their website but think tht is the sequence. Reason you have to do that is because it retains corrupt settings otherwise.

I have been using this PSU/mobo combination for about 9 months and it has been flawless the whole time (thats with several optical drives, hd's + 4GB ram + 3 external usb devices, 5 case fans, 8800gtx + X6800 so a lot of power requirements).

Also make sure you clear the CMOS jumper for 30 secs before powering back on.

it all started when my psu popped also i updated bios to the latest stable version and the problems continue ill try to reset cmos see what happens.

thanks for the help :)

I used to have this issue now and again, the fix for me was to remove both jumpers for the EZ-Raid, when the jumpers are removed you will get a HDD error during post, all you need to do is enter the bios and save and exit, also, when the EZ-Raid jumpers are removed the EZ-RAID1 port becomes the missing SATA2 port on the Intel ICH7 controller.

Hope this helps!
