P5W DH New Bios (1503) (fix booting probs)

I seem to be able to unlock the multi of my 6400 in BOTH directions, range from 6x to 11x at least :eek: I haven't tried these settings yet. Can anyone confirm this? I will have a play.

The fan control for CPU fan does not seem to be fixed. :rolleyes:

I had to relax my memory timings to the SPD values for PC to run Windows.

So far so good.

the cpu settings may look unlocked,

but it wont save the upward settings, im pretty sure it was the same on 1407??

<madness> Fed up with my pc shutting down on a re-boot lol. seem's to be the norm on every asus board i have has since the cusl2-c though

Aye, after a reboot the option for higher multi was not there. Only during the initial setup of the new BIOS could a higher multi be selected.

Never mind, not much point in me trying to clock further with my current cooling anyway. I know my memory can do 420 840DDR, the mobo fails at around 435FSB and the CPU can clock to at least 3.5 Ghz windows stable @ 1.5v. It's just OK idle but it gets so hot underload 70+, I am too worried to do a full stesstest @ 3.5+Ghz. I have had to cut them short in fear :eek: I need better cooling.

can you tell me all the bios settings and voltages your using to get that speed mate,

i also have a allendale 6400 with 4gb GSkill hz 6400 mem

Im running

410mhz fsb 1:1 mem

1.435v to cpu
2.20v to mem
1.65 to mch

cheers

Flashed to 1503 yesterday evening and I must says its pretty weird now with the 'x2reboot' issue resolved...weird in a good way :)

If only they'd allow some better memory sub-timings :(

I made an error, I use a notepad to log my O/C efforts, I either mistyped or misread my notes. What I wrote previously is nonsense. I really don't know where I got 3.5Ghz from? Although the temps are from a 3.36Ghz stress test. I am sure this CPU will reach 3.5 and more with better cooling and a different mobo.

Memory and FSB will reach 425 Mhz and CPU 3.4Ghz

Memory = 2.2v
MCH = 1.65v
ICH=1.2v
CPU = 1.4125v

It's a bit flakey though, but increasing the ICH volts added some stability.

PC will boot at 435Mhz CPU @ 1.5v, but the PC locks or resets during Windows loading. I had to lower RAM divider to do this. At 430 the machine will not boot at all.

At 425 it always boots into windows but crashes during benchmarks. Will crash randomly if I am just surfing, watchin TV. Games crash pretty quickly.

I stay at 400FSB because this is rock solid.

All the above was done under 1407 BIOS, I haven't tried above 400FSB with this BIOS yet, maybe tomorrow.
