Right where to start

Problem is if I turn off the computer it wont post until I remove the battery to reset the cmos settings. I've tryed default settings but as soon as its powered off it wont post. Once its powered on it works TOP notch ram stress tests have all passed (4-5 memtest at 4xxmb each).

Im currently using

P5W DH Deluxe Motherboard - Had 2 off these now both with same problem

E6600 - Swapped this out with a celly I bought to flash the bios same results

150 Raptor - Rattles after 3 week lot louder than 3 weeks ago

250 7200.10 - Every rar file currupt on it, still stores data but dernt use it

2Gb Corsair 8500 - I havnt tryed changing because I dont have spare

Nvidia 7300LE - Cheap replacment for x1900xtx that died

WinTv Video card - Tryed removing & switching with older pci version same results

550w PSU - Dont have a 24-pin replacment to try.

Vista/XP Pro - Either have same problems

Could the power supplie by causing these problems? I use surge protectors on everything from mpu to ipod and do daily virus & spyware checks.

I work with computers day in day out (repairs) and it had to be my own that beat me so if anyone could shed some light on the situation would be much appreciated. Thanks

Yes sorry I didnt mention that I currently have 2 P5W DH one of which was updated via windows asus update and the other though dos thinking windows asus update could have cause the problem.

I dont understand it never come across a problem like this.

I think ill try a new power supplie if I can get hold of one Ill post the results.

What im worried about is the RMA is there going to be issues with RMA such a number of things? (not all the above ofc)

Here's a useful link for BIOS settings for the P5W.

If you still have problems after checking through that, it would seem that the RAM is the most likely issue, do you have any others to test. Might be worth searching through the threads at the above site to see if your RAM is compatible, or anyone else has issues.

But then, it could be something entirely different!

I can borrow some ram from work gunna try a psu aswell mine will also only post in single channel mode with the newer board. Thanks for your suggestions.

Gunna try enabling the floopy controller and turning it off in a minute see how its goes according to that guide having the floppy controller disabled can cause problems.

Ill post results up tommorow after ram/psu test.

Also out of interest rare if you read this what ram are you running in your system? (cant pm)

All the checks on the raptor check out fine thinking it could be vista indexing causing the rattles

Sorry was just wonder if anyone knows what the web site that had all the beta drivers and bios was called I remember they were going to have an overclocking guide on there but never got round to it and was not english but was a great resource :D

Found it http://wiki.p5wdh.de/doku.php?id=downloads:bios but seems its down

seems that removing the remote sensor allows it to post but it gets stuck at Innitalizing USB...

Wont post at all (blank screen fans spining) in duel-channel (first P5WDH did) Think ill rma both P5W (1 from ocuk) memory and gfx card (original x1900)

Ill still test some new ram tommorow and psu but doubt the psu will have anything to do with it. Thanks for advice seems it helped me to see the post screen and read the problem is to do with the usb.

Id like to rma the 7200.10 aswell are ocuk going to argue against rma'ing so much?
