Sorry - i'm new to this board, but I thought it would be best posted here.

Having a few problems with my newley purchased P5WDH and raid... I've used raid before many times on the good old sil3112 and the like, and it's never caused me this many problems...

I enable raid mode and the ROM in the bios and set up a RAID 0 through ctrl+i, ensure my USB floppy is 'legacied' into floppy mode and continue to boot from the XP cd, from where I press F6 to load the RAID drivers that I took from the motherboard CD and they look like they are loading correctly. However this doesn't work, and the XP setup is still saying that there is no drives attached.

I believe if I go back into the BIOS and set it to "normal IDE" mode, it actually detects the drives as sigular in the windows setup, so it looks like the RAID drivers are actually working in the windows setup...

Can anyone help or have experienced thsi before? (sorry for the long post!)

Thanks.

P.S It's SATA Raid not PATA!

I haven't no, but considering the drivers loaded okay while the drives where in "normal IDE" mode, do you think it's worth it?

Cheers!

I am using 2 maxtor 80gb sata drives on the 2 orange ez-raid ports.
No need for drivers so no need to f6 when installing windows.
Windows should see it as one drive so i would say that you all good to go.

Be warned that the Asus CD is faulty. If you boot the cd to make the floppy disk, you end up with the drivers for the ICH8 chip instead of the ICH7. I think if you make the raid driver floppy while in windows you get the right drivers. That might even be the wrong way round, but you get the idea. ;)
