Ouch, well yesterday, I accidently bent perhaps about 3-4 pins on the 775 socket itself

I stupidly placed the socket protector directly on the top of the pins as this is where I thought it was meant to be placed, I then pushed the lever down and bent some pins... I don't know what on earth I was thinking when I did it!

Is there any hope for my mobo? I intended to sell this after I upgraded to the p5b deluxe.

I guess I'll have to sell it on ebay for £50 as spares.

Bend them back very carefully with tweezers. At your own risk obviously but it should work if you take it slow.
Then test & if it works sell as working. No way you'll get £50 for a broken mobo (perhaps I misunderstood you about that though).

I had a socket 478 P4 processor with a number of bent pins, straightened them out with a very fine screwdriver (principle is the same with your motherboard), took a bit of time, but it worked fine once I put it onto the motherboard. :)

as paranoid as i am these days, these sort of things are very resilient.. i dropped an opteron 250 from about 5ft onto the floor... bent half the pins.. bent them back.. sold it on ebay.. the pins got bent in transit again.. the guy bent them back.. worked like a charm... just be careful and i think you will be pleasantly surprised.
