I think i may be eligable for some tax back because at the start of the year I was paying quite a bit of tax as I was getting 3 or 4 weeks pay put down as one week

Pay -£8959.74
Tax -£1048.39

Tax code 522L

Earnings upto and including the earnings threshhold - £3400
Earnings above the earnings threshhold - £5252
Employees contributions - £581.07

In this tax year

Tax code 543L (?)
Gross pay £3553.04
Tax paid £459.40

You'll need to split that between tax and national insurance. If they paid you all in one week, then you'll've paid a lot of NI. And you ain't getting it back.

thanks. Yep i paid a load of NI too. Crappy accounts department where i worked. I did keep all my pay slips, any chance of getting NI back or is there no point?

lolism - I calculated i was owed about £500 back in tax. cheers

Is there a simple way to look at the P60's an find out if you've overpaid tax?

I have mine from the last 4 years and would to have a check.....
