P67 good for PCI-E 3.0?

I'm getting mixed answers;

When PCI-E 3.0 cards arrive will a P8P67 Pro B3 rev support the new cards to the full extent?

I've read the first pcie slot will be 3.0 (with a bios update?) but then ive read that no P67 rev3 boards will take pcie 3.0.. :confused:

It depends on what Asus do.
But there's no reason why Asus can't and won't update the BIOS to allow the primary lane to be PCI-E 3.0, as physically it's the same as a PCI-E 2.0 slot, and in the first lane the bandwidth is from the CPU.

However, to get PCI-E 3.0 bandwidth from any board, you must be using IvyBridge.

Thanks for info mate, I will be going Ivy when its out if my board supports it with the pcie 3.0, If not then I probably wont bother.

There was a list posted up a few weeks back that had a list of confirmed asus boards that will have PCI-E3.0 support. Sadly the P8P67 Pro board wasnt on it.
