I'm struggling with my old duo E4300@3GHz and see there's these lovely new intel chips that could push 4.5 - 5GHz.

My current GFX is a GTX 260. I have no idea how the on board GFX of a 2500K/Z68 combo would stack up against it? (Not that I get any time for games these days)

Does anyone know if you can use the on board for encoding while a GFX card handles the usual GFX work? Is it worth doing? The info I've googled so far suggests there isn't much software yet that can take advantage of it. The type of encoding I do is just normalising the sound in video content which isn't too intensive anyway.

Did I just convince myself to get the P67?

Dave :D

Afaik if you use a dedicated card it replaces the inboard, they cannot be used in conjunction, z68 may change this but I've seen no info ATM to suggest such, IMO you may as well get P67 now

QuickSync only works when using the IGP (a monitor must be connected to it). It might be possible in the future to use QuickSync whilst using an external GPU but it won't be to start with.
