Ok,

I got my i5 + pG7A up and running ok last night (after forgetting to put the CPU power in!). I've got 2 1TB drives on SATA 3 and 4 with Raid 0 which I'm booting Windows 7 64 with. There's another drive on SATA 1 (also 1TB) that I'm going to use for backup.

So, on to the problem:

When I start the machine, or power cycle it, I see a non-flashing, static cursor in the top left of the screen, and the two digit code "98" on the bottom right of the screen. The system sits there like this for 2 or so minutes, before finally posting and booting Windows.

Does anyone know what this means? The manual is typically useless and contains no information that would be useful here whatsoever.

Thanks.

Seems as if 98 is some kind of code for "Console input devices connect". I've got a logitech cordless keyboard (USB) and a Razor mouse. Mouse works ok in bios screen. I wonder what's going on...

Have you tried unplugging all your usb devices to see if that effects the boot time?

Also, are you using the USB 3 slots - if you are revert back to the USB 2 for testing/use.

Also try a ps2 keyboard and mouse if you have one to hand.

You could also try disabling USB 3 in the BIOS.
