Just bought this mobo with an i7-2600k CPU. Ive connected 6 Sata drives and 2 eSata lines (SSD Port0). But upon booting, it says only 4 devices are connected. I'm only getting drives on ports 0, 2, 4 and 6. ports 1, 3 and 5 are empty.

I'm going to do some more testing later on but I cant go online atm, so I thought I'd ask while i'm at work.

Is there anything that needs to be done to activate some of the sata ports? or anything like that?

did you not read this? its all over the net like white on rice
Potential Sandybridge issue:
- In some cases, motherboards featuring the 6 Series Chipset (P67 & H67) that have Sata devices connected to ports 2-5 could potentially degrade over time.
- Motherboards with devices connected to Ports 0 & 1 remain unaffected or using the 6Gb/s ports.
- Please note if your board is affected by the above issues, your statutory rights remain to RMA the board.
- Tests have found that under 5% of boards are affected.
- PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO POTENTIAL ISSUE TO SANDYBRIDGE PROCESSOR

Yes i did. But as i posted, I'm having problems with ports 1 and 7 (6Gb/s). It also says over time. I haven't even gotten into windows yet. So I doubt it that problem.

If you have AHCI enabled what do you see in windows? Are all the drives there?

I only got into windows once, but only the drives that were shown in the bios/post screen were displayed in windows. Then everything was in the default IDE mode. I changed it to AHCI to see if that would help and it made no change.

I I cant seem to get dual channel ram. I've swapped the sticks from 1+3 to 1+2 and cpu z leaves the channel blank.

can anyone confirm the correct slots?

dual channel is as the following

1 ---- 3

or

2 ---- 4

Channel one is the slot closest to the CPU and two is next to it, then three... You get the picture.
