Can anybody tell me when the new Asus P6T Deluxe V2 mobo is coming into stock and will it be a similar price to the original V1 board ? ?

Looking at building a new system soon and this board is on my list.

The V2 is a downgrade - no SAS controller and cheaper components. If you want a P6T Deluxe, the V1 is the better board.

Cheers for the info.. Where did you get this from ? ? I looked at the Asus website but the only difference I could find is the SAS controller is taken out which didn't make any difference to me.

I just thought a V2 board would have a few bug fixes on it.

Extreme Forums, Anandtech, Tom's all have had recent threads about the V2 and the fact that it's NOT an improvement over the original, it's a cost-cutting exercise on ASUS part.

I think I also read that the V2 has 1 less LAN port, 2 less USBs and no SAS and cheaper sound chip.

That would be the plain non-deluxe P6T. The Deluxe V2 has all of the same ports and controllers as the current Deluxe, except for the SAS controller and the two SAS/SATA ports.

These are assertions unsupported by facts. Just because the same wrong thing is repeated, doesn't magically turn it into truth.

It is true that the V2 board does not have the SAS controller, and as a consequence also has two less SATA ports, since the SATA ports are backward compatible with SAS ports. Anything asserted beyond that is pure unadulterated conjecture. There is NO evidence that any other "cost cutting measures" have been taken. None. Nada. Zilch.

There are facts haysdb, as proven in my previous thread...

If only people would search before they post.

Read this for info.

The V2 has everything that the original has minus the SAS controller. According to the official Asus website anyway... Unless you wan't to argue against that?
