Hiii

Well i have a P6T6 WS and was wondering if the SC was a lot better? performance boost etc? I planning on getting 2x dx11 cards when they are released, but at the moment in only running a 4870x2 and a 920 core oh and 2x 15krpm sas disks.

So Is the P6T7 a good upgrade or a waste of money?

Many thanks

You already have a highend board, I don't think its worth upgrading unless you gonna be using all/some the extra slots, most overclocks are limited by cooling and cpu, IMO can't see any reasons to spend the extra money.

From what I read its a good mobo, still early days so new bios will/might give higher BCLK, the vreg and NB cooling is good (even with NF200s).

hmm any idea when the x68 mobos's are making an appearance?

that will probabaly be the deciding factor, if their not that far off then ill prolly wait, if they are then i might sell this board and get the sc one.

As Helios said, a good while. The next generation of intel processors look like they will use bloomfield/lynnfield generation sockets such as s1366 and s1156 -so current i7s and upcoming lynnfield boards should work with them.

The next big evolution seems to be with "Sandy Bridge", this is when we are likely to see X68 boards appear. But sandy bridge isn't expected to be released until 2011.

The WS board is very nice, but if there are features on the SC that you need - then an upgrade may make some sense. If you just want the best board, then I recommend keeping your current board (very nice piece of kit) and put money towards the i9 Gulftown fund.
