P6TD & i7 920 OC Guide?

Thanks! I'm using a Promilatech Mega Shadow, Indigo Xtreme TIM and a single Noiseblocker MF12-P.

All I'm waiting for now is the case to come back from the powder coaters and the 5850's to come into stock and I can actually start using it! :D

As anyone got a list of settings i could try on my P6TD, i7 920 D0, 6GB Corsair XMS3 C8 and Corsair H50. I want to try and hit 4Ghz but i'm struggling to get to grips with all the different settings!

Very useful thread. However my Asus P6T (& i7 920 etc) has reached 4Ghz in BIOS, but will only run at 3.8Ghz in Windows. Anyone know any way to fix this so that it runs at 4Ghz? Will probably not run @ 4Ghz for day to day usage anyway, would just be nice to be able to have it running that high...

Have you tried the section in the guide I used? worked first time for me, I then dropped the voltages until it failed.

Turns out it IS running @ 4Ghz, just that Windows doesn't pick it up right. CPU-Z does however.

Had it stable at around 3.3Volts, but temps were getting quite high. @ 85 degrees under full load (2 hrs in prime). Now I'm trying to lower the voltages and see how it goes. :)

Hey Camelpaw, I've just got a P6TD and an i7 920 d0 and am having a little trouble with getting my head round the overclocking. Is there any chance you could let me know the settings you used in the BIOS since I'm quite confused by the guide and the BIOS menu itself.

Like yourself, power efficiency isnt a concern, I just want to get this bad boy to 4GHz.

Thanks if you are able to reply.
