P7N Diamond has an 8pin socket ???

Guys,

Looking at the P7N motherboard as I am very interested in buying one.

However I notice the CPU power has an 8 pin socket. Will this pose any problems as my current motherboard P35C DS3R only has a 4 pin socket.

Currently using an Enermax 620w liberty ATX2.2

I'm pretty sure that the Liberty has an 8 pin plug (it's split into two 4 pin plugs).

Even if it doesn't, you can still use a 4 pin plug in the 8 pin socket.

Correct, MSI put a small removable plastic cover covering one of 4 pins so you can just use one 4pin 12v plug.

But if your PSU has a cable for 2 x 4pins then you can plug them both in as I have done with my P7N Diamond MB, Probably a bit over kill but it keeps things cable tidy for me anyway.
