I was looking at getting an Asus P7P55D-LE mobo. Might seem a bit stupid but, after looking at the pics again the top PCIE slot looks to be quite high up and seems as if it would be a tight squeeze getting in a graphics card, a 5850 say. It almost looks as if the audio connections would block the graphics card.

A Gigabyte GA-P55-UD4 for comparison clearly has a lot more space

What are your thoughts?

The gpu will fit fine, one thing you will need watch for is the cpu cooler may interfere with the slot.

This is why I just bought the asus p7p55d E version instead as these have the new USB 3 and sata 6gb. Asus must have noticed this problem for larger hs as there i7 motherboards have the slot in the right place as they have moved the gfx card slot down by one and has plenty of room now.

I am installing a mega hs and anted to make sure it fitted but to be honest it will fir he older type motherboards but between the hs and gfx there are only about 5mm.

Take a look at the new i5 E versions of the motherboards I bought the evo version as it was only £5 more than the pro but about £30 more than the none e versions.

And for £30 you get sata 6gb, USB 3 and the gfx card slot lower and the nee cooling tec so I went for that. Hope it helps
