hey ladies

got one or 2 questions for yas

i just got myself a asus p8z68 v motherboard with a intel i5 2500k 3.3 cpu

i got good cooling but i was wondering what is the best way to oc on this board, its going to be my first oc so im not sure if i should do it auto o manual....any suggestions?

also running 2x2gb corsair xms3 @ 1600 and a nice freezer 13

sweet cheers pgi going to give it a try now :P im running a antec 900 with a nice 120mm typhoon on the side, il have to see what kind of temps i get.

also my ram is running at 1333 is that right?

right iv done a auto oc and running prime95 at 100% load its running at 4.3 with temps of mid/upper 50's (im happy with that)

turbo target is at 4.2 :/

btw whats the diff between the bios auto oc and the on the AI suite?

this is idle


i have not changed anything in the bios settings just used the auto oc.

how does it look?

well i went and made some changes as you said, now running at 4.4...blck back down to 100 and MP up to 44

yea my case might need 1 or 2 more fans, im using a antec 900 with a 120mm typhoon side fan+ the antec case fans.

does it all look ok now to use? ofc i run prime95 for a good few hours and see how it goes, just want to make sure its a safe and stable oc.....dont want to fry any of my **** xD



BTW i didnt change any of the other bios options apart from the 1600 ram setting. any i might have missed?

ok so after running prime9 for a good few short periods i myself am happy with the results but as im new to oc'sing do you think it would be a ok oc to use just for gaming as thats all i do.



i didnt rly want to push it too far as my temps seem a bit high but i think im happy with my 4ghz
 
yea im happy with it, this is a new build for bf3 im running a msi gtx460 hawk super oc and my res is at 1920x1080.

tbh i played bf3 alpha on my old system (lol q8200 at 2.2 LOL) and it was ok so this new i5 should be fine.
