i have a 3770k on a p8h77-m pro board, bios or uefi is up to date but when i go to make manual settings on the CPU ratio the options stop at x35 (stock) and when you put turbo into manual you get no options.

Also autotune only does one cycle rather than running up to a BSOD like the asus marketing vids for it.

I'm stumpped any ideas?

PS. have a H2Flo CPU Cooler and aida stress test maxes around 45-50 so i dont think its a temperature celling

Isn't the H77 basically the no overclocking chipset?

I'm not sure if it offers any limited overclocking.

If you want to fully overclock you would need a Z77 chipset assuming you want the latest chipset.

Anyone know that for sure? i figured after reading that it had overclocking protection features it would be suitable to overclock with, Z77 board has the same feature listed under overclocking and nothing else.

from asus spec
Overclocking Features Overclocking Protection :
- ASUS C.P.R.(CPU Parameter Recall)

in the product description on asus website.
Users can adjust CPU PWM voltages and frequencies for various overclocking scenarios, with accurate input through UEFI BIOS tuning or the exclusive ASUS interface. This proprietary design increases overclocking headroom to push performance to its full potential.
