Hey guys!

Ive been playing around at overclocking with the titled motherboard although im finding it somewhat difficult seeing as you cant directly change Vcore in the BIOS it has to be done through ATV and offset values. With this im finding it awkward to monitor vcore and as such establish system stability.

I managed a 4.2ghz with a ATV 0.012 and offset at the default 0.05 which ran stable for 9 hours of prime 95 but ive been having some boot issues so im reluctant to contine until i can get my head round things.

Just wandered if anyone else has used this board and could offer any advice?

Cheers

just for the record what I'm running

Intel Core i5-2500K
Kingston HyperX Blu PC3-10666 C9
Asus p67p8 m pro
Corsair TX650 V2

Settings for bios
AI OC Tuner - Manual
BCLK - 100
Turbo Ratio - 47
Internal PLL OV - Auto
Mem Freq - Auto
DRAM Timing - Auto
Offset - (+)
CPU Offset V - 0.005
DRAM V - Auto
VCCIO - Auto
PCH - Auto
LLC - Enabled
Spread Spectrum - Enabled
CPU Ratio - Auto
EIST - Enabled
Turbo Mode - Enabled
Additional Turbo V - 0.004
C1E - Auto
C3 - Auto
C6 - Enabled

Runs my vcore at a fairly solid 1.4v and I think I could probably ramp the ratio up a little more but going to need better cooling first. Also left it for 6 hours in prime with no errors if these setting help anyone with the same board as you can't manually set the vcore .

The vcore is running a bit high but as soon as I sort my cooling I'll think less about it. I found that when I started to manual a lot of the settings, the system would become unstable and give errors in prime. It seemed that leaving LLC on stabilised the core voltage and adding a little ATV helped too.

My core now just fluctuates 0.008 up and down when running prime whereas with manual setting I think I was experiencing vdroop after a few mins of running and prime would error.

Sorry for the mish mash of english. It's been a long day :/ but I hope this helps :D

Ooo wait... Have you got the p8p67 m-pro? or the p8p67 m? As I hear the latter isn't great for overclocking. Some people have done well but the majority haven't. You're welcome to try my settings if you have all the options for them but it's at your own risk. What works for one person might not work for everyone...

i have the p8p67-m sadly which I also hear is not as good. It seems yours and mine are similar in that vcore cant be directly changed! what kind of temps are you hitting in prime95 that voltage? my 4.2 clock hit around 70ish max on a single core is this normal?

cheers for your response :-)

My temps are pretty ridiculous tbh. In prime after about 20 mins I'm running between 87c-90c although it's just my crappy artic freezer 13 and small fractal case that are causing this issue. What case and cooling are you running?
