Got my new PC put together and it posts fine, no problems at all.

However i just can't get the thing to install W7.

Have tried from 2 different external HDDs, ISO on DVD and also putting the HDD into this PC and isnstalling W7 via W7.

Nothings worked so far, just says please select correct boot device or insert boot device media etc etc.

Any help appreciated, thanks!
 
Sorry to sound daft, you have set the DVD /cd drive as the first boot device in the BIOS.
 
Do you hear the DVD drive spin up and start reading the disc, usually is comes up with press any key to continue install.

Is it possible to try another lead / port on the motherboard.
 
do you have raid set up in bios? if you do there you need to enter the raid setting and set up the hdd's or it will not detect the drive's

have you done any Bios tewkin? try clearing cmos then install before messing in bios.
 
You can hear it spin up yea. When it does spin up and i press a key to continue it hangs for a bit then just repeats.

No RAID set up, havn't done any BIOS tweaking either, only boot options.
