Does anyone know the name of the onboard graphics on a p8z68-v lx?. I been looking on the asus site and looking at reviews but i cant seem to find out what the onboard graphics is called. Mainly wanted to find out to check what the onboard gfx specs are. Thanks.

You don't have onboard graphics on the motherboard.

But on the CPU.

Most "K" Edition CPUs have HD3000 on them and most of the others have HD2000. But for a few like the i3 2125 etc.

So far the only K series CPU that does not feature ANY graphics is the 2550K.

The onboard graphics on the LGA1155 boards is on the CPU. So it really depends on which CPU you are using. The K series CPUs tend to use the more powerful HD 3000 graphics, while the other CPUs use the HD 2000, which is roughly half as powerful.

mainly flash games, movies etc. Im getting a new gfx card in a month or so to replace my old 7300GT. So was thinking of using onboard till i get a new card as i was gona stick the 7300 in my sisters old pc.

ah thanks might use the onboard then. I mainly wanted to see diffrence between onboard and my old 7300GT im planning to get a radeon 6850, or 6870 so till then just movies, flash games.

The G840 does indeed have a HD 2000 graphics core, as you can see here it performs on the same level as the i3 2100 for graphics-heavy tasks.

As for the comparison of the 7300GT with the HD 2000 - looking at this table the 7300GT is more powerful.
