Hi,

I've been using the TPU switch on the motherboard along with 'optimal' settings in the UEFI - this has been working with no problems for 5 months +

When I turned it on this morning I am getting an 'overclocking failed - press F1 to run setup' message. If I turn the TPU switch off it boots fine

I've made no changes to the system lately whatsoever so I'm confused why this is happening all of a sudden - can anyone help me with this please

Spec is:

P8Z68-V mobo
i7-2600k
Corsair H80
16GB Ripjaws RAM
Corsair GT 3 60GB SSD
Coolermaster 500W

I am not familiar with this ASUS board mate. What is the TPU switch??? then maybe I can help.

That message is often seen on other ASUS boards with RAM associated problems.

Chances are the TPU wouldn't have given you much extra anyway- on my i5 I got an extra 100MHz...
I left the mobo switch on, as I think the chip helps to regulate voltages, and can be over-ridden by the BIOS settings. Setting your multiplier and OC settings manually is a better bet. Plenty of advice on these forums if you need it!

Once managed to boot at 5GHz with TPU, but boot failed without it, if that says anything...

I use the switch as I'm not 100% about overclocking, can anyone point me to an OC thread that relates to my build?

Thanks for the replies
