P965 and Crossfire

Just read an article in Custom PC mentioning that P965 can now support Crossfire! That was the last piece of future-proofing I was looking for. Am thinking of building a system for about £2K in total, so can go to P975X but that seems to deliver significantly less performance from all the reviews I've seen on Anand and Tom's etc.

Any views on this approach, and if so suggestions for the best P965 mobo?

Anandtech did a review of 965 Crossfire.
The 2nd slot only runs at x4 so Crossfire performance isn't as good as on a 975.

If you are on a 6300 or 6400 then 965 is better for overclocking the CPU due to the higher fsb that it can reach, if your on an E6600 up & have the higher multi then a good 975 board will still max the chip.

Abit AW9D series, Asus P5WH or P5WS4 & Intel Badaxe/Badaxe2 seem to be the usual suspects.

Wouldnt bother with the badaxes, no vcore adjustment iirc, I've heard good things about the P5W DH Deluxe

Many people (inc me) have found that the P5W DH memory divider is unstable at anything other than 1:1 - pretty crap really. It is an ok board for moderate overclocks, but we have yet to see a decent crossfire board for extreme overclocks.
