hi, I've got a watercooled Q6600 running @ 3.75 24/7 at around 1.48v (ish). I have a pa160 rad cooling the cpu and the northbride using a maximus formula fusion block the temperature using realtemp is 60-65 °c running boinc. The pipe temperature coming out of the rad feels pretty much the same as pipe going in, this is not scientific but it got me wondering if a pa160 with one fan pushing air through it isn't really good enough for my setup. any ideas?

heat throughout the loop is surprisingly constant. I'd be surprised if a finger would be sensitive enough to be able to determine the difference between the inlet of the rad and the outlet.

I'm sure the PA160 can deal with the heatload but perhaps the fan can't? After all the PA160 isn't passive. If there is only a single 120mm fan then you're very dependent on the airflow generated by that fan.

You need one of these!

That's a 172mm fan capable of 238cfm :) The little one is an 80mm.

Metal blades

I've never actually used it at 24v which is its native voltage; I've managed 17v using +12 and -5 and that was not quiet. At 12v it's actually not too bad; certainly Ok for a radbox or heavily muffled case.

At 24v I think it was something like 60dba so Delta-like.
