I've just got a new PAYG phone on Vodafone and would like to transfer my number from my current T-Mobile sim.

When I ring up T-Mobile for security reasons they ask for the date I last topped up and how much this was for. As I couldn't provide this they then asked when I last made a phone call on that sim which I also didn't know.

Because of this they refused to provide me with a PAC code.

I have no idea of the answers to the two questions as it really isn't something I keep track of as I don't use my phone much. Can you think of any way I might be able to get my PAC code as this is really irritating me

Unless I'm being dumb the obvious thing to do is simply to make a phone call using that sim and that gives you one out of the two things needed. The top-up is slightly more difficult, is there any other way for you to find out? Maybe through the old phone and see when you called up the T-Mobile top-up number? Other than that you could perhaps provide them with other details to confirm who you are and that you own the phone number?

Well, turns out a phone call wasn't enough so I ended up topping up £5 to get the code. Irritating but there's not much else I could do.

Just for future reference, if you register your T-Mobile number on the My T-Mobile section of the website, you can check both all the top-up history and also all the calls made.
