package deployment over a windows network

hello,

I wonder if anyone could recommend any good FREE package deployment software. This is to be used over a windows netowork server 2003 and xp. Around a 100 desktops.

Group Policy will do that.

Yes i know. I need some free 3rd party software to be able to it. Need to be able to distribute software to individual users, computers, groups or all domain users.

It has to be free

As stated earlier, isn't this what Active Directory/ Group Policies are for?

If you absolutely, positively have to use something else and have an IT budget of 0 then wpkg (www.wpkg.org) should be able to do what you want. Or you could look at Unattended (http://unattended.sourceforge.net/)

Realistically though this sort of thing would constitute a fairly sizeable project in it's own right as you would have to fundamentally look at the way you deploy/ support applications and operating systems.
