So after much swearing and cursing I am still no further forward than when I first installed Linux (al-be it not that long ago...)

I have 'installed' a couple packages, namely network manager and Mint Wifi, through the Package manager.
They show in the list with a little green square, and the network manager also have a nice yellow sun looking symbol next to it too. When they install has finished I get a nice message saying all went smoothly and was a big success :)

However, I cant seem to find these aplications anywhere in the menu (what would have been 'start' in windows) :(

I have also tired
sudo apt-get install [/qutoe]
for these aplications and it tells me I have the latest version installed...

Am I missing something, is there something else I need to do to access programs when they have been installed through the package manager?

dam I feel a ploker, didn't think of that. tho it did happen with the two apps, all be them both networking ones.
Serves me right for trying to make it work late at night!
Will give that another go tonight

are they actually apps or just services or whatever in the control panel thing?
