So after much swearing and cursing I am still no further forward than when I first installed Linux (al-be it not that long ago...)
I have 'installed' a couple packages, namely network manager and Mint Wifi, through the Package manager.
They show in the list with a little green square, and the network manager also have a nice yellow sun looking symbol next to it too. When they install has finished I get a nice message saying all went smoothly and was a big success
However, I cant seem to find these aplications anywhere in the menu (what would have been 'start' in windows)
I have also tired

I have also tired
sudo apt-get install [/qutoe]
for these aplications and it tells me I have the latest version installed...
Am I missing something, is there something else I need to do to access programs when they have been installed through the package manager?
