The standard box should be good enough - after all it's been slung about on various modes of transport since leaving China. I'd obviously send it via Special Delivery / Standard Parcels or something though so that it's completely insured.

Put it in another box, not too big, with either bubble wrap around it or foam chips.

Good advice!!

For the sake of £1-£2 worth of bubble-wrap (which you should charge the buyer) it's not worth the risk of damage in transport it's what I do when sending products to customers and I have never had anything damaged.

I'd bet that the actual 360 will be fine inside the box, they have plenty of polystyrene inside don't they? The actual box will be completely battered by the Royal Mail football team though so if you think the buyer will care about the condition of the packaging then it might be worth giving it an outer layer.

I think the 360 has a single layer of bubble wrap and then it is flat against the box's surface?

Well that case it definately needs more packaging. I was just going on pretty much every piece of electronics equipment I've bought... that doesn't include a 360.

I'm only going from memory as I havent touched the box since launch day, but I'm sure it was pretty thin on the packaging materials.

No bubble rapping in this when i had it, but now i rapped the console in some bubble rap then in the main box, then in this other box so that should help.

i hate it when I get sent something that isn't properly packaged. Even if the item is in its original box, another box + bubble wrap/newspaper should be used to make its journey safer. People who just wrap brown paper round the original box do my head in :)

As for the orginal packaging being safe i would say no as its basic and dont forget these get shiped in bulks so they are more safer in numbers on pallets more likely.

I orignaly bought an xbox from argos which was delivered in a blue plastic bag and just in its box packaging but i noticed one of the corners to be damaged.
On closer inspection after opening the box the harddrive had slight damage on it so i did'nt even bother using it as for it to take damage when its in a seal box must have ment for it to of taken a big hit so i just took it back to a local argos.

I would definately wrap it in bubble wrap and place it in another box and if there are any gaps i would fill them with bubble wrap/news papers/carrier bags or anyone to pack the box out so it can't move about in there.

As mentioned above "Better Safe Than Sorry"
