Im trying to fix a laptop for a friend...He's told me its had a virus which i think has corrupted the partition.
Because when i boot the laptop it goes to the boot menu..and asks if i want to start in safe mode..or last known good .etc but the laptop freezes at different stages somtimes itll go to the xp boot screen other times itll just freeze at the menu.
Ive got it to the PB restore program by pressing f11 at the bios screen...the problem is though when i select Distructive or non distructive reinstall they both come up with errors:
' Recovery
Run-time error'76':
Path not found '
and now when i boot the laptop it goes straight to the smart restore program ..wont give the boot menu anymore.
I really want to get the laptop back to factory default from new....does anyone have any ideas as to what i can do?
The guys told me hes rang PB and they want £50 for some master cds ...which he dont want to pay as hes not long bought the lappy.
