I have a problem where windows loads up and just before it gets to the logon screen I just get loads of pink and green dots and lines on the screen and cannot get into windows.

When ythe system boots the screen works fine I can see boot logo and everything else it just goes funny just before it it supposed to show the logon screen,

I did manage to get into safe mode and it was working snd checked my drivers and everything which all seemed fine. I can no longer get into safe moode it just gives me a blank screen.

I have used my recovery disk and restored the system to manufacturer state, The restore process went fine and then when I restarted to get into windows I got the same issue.

Anyone know what is going on here?

If there was something wrong with my screen surely it would not display anything at all.

I have also reinstalled windows Vista and still have the same issue

Any ideas on this guys?

Thanks

Does this have an Nvidia 8000 series graphics chip in it, if it does its more than likely failed as Nvidia screwed them up during manufacture. They lift off the board and cause random aftifacts /graphics faults.

it has a nVidia GeForce 8600M GS as it says in the specs do they have an isue as well

If so is there a fix or no
