Packet Loss on TF2 but not CSS.

For the last year Ive been living at home again and a lot of evenings I suffer from packet loss between 10-40. My net graph jerks a lot and voices on mumble are completly stuttery.

However recently I installed CSS and noticed even when TF2 and mumble are lagging a treat (20-30 Loss) I only get 1-3 loss on CSS. Its seems very strange to me.

-My cousin is on the same isp and rig as me and gets the same problem (he live down the road)
-Traceroute shows its not my router + shows a lot less loss.

Any thoughts on what this could be? :S

If you both have the same ISP it's probable it is your ISP but you haven't actually said who that is...

Might not have a direct impact on loss but have you checked your rates? Command lines being:

cl_cmdrate 100
cl_updaterate 100
rate 25000

Yea got my rates set up fine. Probaldy is my isp but still dont understand why TF2 loss would be different to CSS :S
