Packet Loss - what's causing it??

Has your lagometer/connection stats in-game actually been showing packets dropping (in cod I know it's shown by thin red lines) or has your FPS just been dropping massively for a few seconds then jumps back up again?

nope defo packets lost, shows in cs 1.6 and source both show this :s

Try setting your MTU lower incase your line is having issues with fragmenting? Could also try increasing your SNR if your router will allow. Might not fix it but those are ways you could try making the line more stable. Both have helped a weaker line I used to use.

tried those in the past mate neither worked here is a screenshot of my net stats in game you can see the spikes where the connection is losing packets

what rate, cmdrate and updaterate are you using in CS?

set them to
rate - 25000
cmdrate - 100
updaterate 100

Also can you show some pathpings? imo these are better as they will show packet loss

just type 'pathping address' in cmd like pathping www.bbc.co.uk

using 20k 101 101 rates , however have tried lowering updaterate to combat this issue (which didn't work).
