Hi guys,

I get loads of Packetloss when using Teamspeak. Everything else works fine.

I'm on O2 LLU with about 2.5mbit. Any ideas?

External host, I'm the only person having any issues. Works fine for everyone else. Hosted on one of the big server providers so I'm convinced its my connection.

DNS uses UDP at times does it not? If there's poor comms and DNS packets are lost, would that not affect the overall connection problem?

Any DNS problems will be eveident before connecting, once the IP has been resolved it's resolved......and that assuming that the connection is configured to use the FQDN, whereas many are simply connected to by IP address so DNS is not even used.

While this is true, I'd imagine it's also irrelevant unless you DC from the server as DNS is only used when you try to connect to TeamSpeak because the connection will remain open for the duration of the session.

Right?

I was thnking in general terms, you look up, you cache if you dont use to forget after a bit..

you are correct

Its probably not packet loss as in it vanished, its probably packet loss as in a timeout...

I had two customers recently who could browse fine but while playing wow in one case and another game in the other case they kept getting disconnected...

there was the odd dropped ping to www.google.co.uk but nothing more than 1 every 20/30

in both cases I bumped down their MTU from 1492 and 1450 to 1400.. in both cases it resolved the issue...

if its a real issue maybe try bumping down the MTU or UP if its low... remember TT is sticking its data into a packet that get chopped up and repacked several times along the way and its only going to wait X millisconds for a packet..
