Hello,

Recently made a thread about my Wi-fi

But I think the actual problem is getting Packet Loss, 'It can mean much slower download and upload speeds, poor quality VoIP audio, pauses with streaming media and what seems like time warping in games -- your connection may even come to a total standstil'

Pretty much sums up everything that's happening, it's not all the time, but often enough to be a problem, especially as it makes games pretty unplayable.

When I try a Pingtest I get test failed for packet loss, Java is installed and as far as im aware no firewall is blocking it, tried on another PC (one connected direct to router) and same issue...

I will be phoning BT when I can, but would kinda like some 'proof' before I do as I guess they'll just say it's fine,

Any idea?

Thanks.

check all your traffic is moving at full duplex or half duplex,auto-negotiation etc.

If one of the network adaptors/ethernet controllers is not configured the same as all the others on your network it could throw the whole thing out of kilter

Alternatively you could try a more recognised method of troubleshoot by using tools designed for this very purpose.

I'd start by using pathping to see if you are getting drops and at what device.
