Packetloss to router.

Ok

My PC has this issue.
The GFs PC is fine. Ruling out a router issue.
I have tried
replacing network cable, drivers, fresh install, factory reset of router, multiple ports on router

nothing seems to fix it. Im guessing faulty on board NIC ?

its a ASUS z170 motherboard, probably still within warranty, but tbh i ****ing hate this POS i wish i never got it. I bent a few CPU pins though when i installed the 6700k about 6 months ago. So i doubt ill be doing the warranty route.

Before i buy either a new Mobo... sigh, or a cheap PCIE network card (sadly more likely) are there any more tests i can do or try ?

oh yeah its an ASUS RT-AC56U - dont get one the range is crap, no external aerials.

You could try some network diagnostics in command prompt, pathping, tracert etc. See if it confirms where the loss is occuring.

Pcie nic's are cheap...if you're sure it's the nic. I'm not a network guru though..

And now cmd says <1ms 0 packet loss.

Believe your command line above all else. Try running a ping -t to your router and leave it running for a good hour or so to get a good feel. 4 pings isn't enough to draw a good conclusion.

Yes sir, will leave it on all evening.
Is there a way to get a report after or if I break the command, I'm no command line expert.

Just put in your IP and get a nice graph after a few hours/days.

Are you wired directly to the router? I had some odd issues with a switch awhile back - started going bad one port at a time as the capacitors failed - took awhile to narrow it down.
