recently messed up my vista install and took the opportunity to go back to XP SP3 pro

however a major problem im having is that my page file just keeps growing and growing untill its full (3gb, takes maybe 8 hours of laptop been on) and then i get all sorts of memory issues and programs shutting

another thing that i noticed and is possibly related is i have 3gb ram installed and it hardly seems to ever be using more than around 500mb of it.

have ran spybot S&D , hijack this after various googling, etc but nothings stopped it.

anyone got any ideas to what could be causing this or how i could maybe find out as its driving me mad ?

thanks:)

Acrobat Reader is the likely culprit here.
Had this issue with my sisters laptop, took me ages to find the offending party.

not got it installed :(

the only thingd i havent ended or uninstalled that i can think off are intel wireless drivers and related things. cant imagine them doing anything bad though. have been using vista so long that im just puzzled with XP and this problem now :o m

nope none of them are which is what i dont understand :/

firefox with about 70mb , explorer 30mb and svchost 20mb are the top 3

i do have 40000 handles and rising though which doesnt seem right
PF usage is currently at 797 but goes up a mb every 20secondsish

at this rate ill be reinstalling windows again. or maybe go back to vista. been trying to sort this for a few days on and off
