I need a little help please...

As I understand it, the page file is virtual memory that gets used if you don't have enough physical memory, is that correct?

On my work computer (e6600, 2Gb RAM) I'm getting 500Mb PF usage at idle and it shoots up above the 1Gb mark as soon as I do some photoshop (mickey mouse stuff, nothing complicated). Does that sound unusually high? My computer as been running pretty slow since we had symantec antivirus added.

you havent actually said what you want to acheive :P

sorry.
I want it to be not as cr*p as it is! It just seems quite slow for a computer of this spec.

The computers in the office with half as much RAM are getting smaller PF usage doing similar tasks so I just wondered whether it was normal for it to be that high. I guess it isn't anything out of the ordinary.
