I've got a machine here thats only got 512mb memory running XP and is constantly page filing around 500mb. The problem is the drive is really old so anything that requires the drive to do anything causes the system to slow. it currently has a X-FI USB sound card that has 1gb memory build into it. If i move the page file over to that would that help ?

didnt know it was possible to use the sound cards memory as a page file but even if it is.....having to access it over a usb connection ? what next...access system memory over a wireless connection ?

hey wait mine is actually a good idea for the future:p

yup a hand held device that just pretty much displays the picture what gets transmitted to it...the main machine is elsewhere that does all the calculations.

its a USB sound card that comes with 1gb of memory which has the drivers on. it's exactly the same as a normal USB pen. it shows up in the page file options, turn off the C: and turn on the E: retstart and it moves the page file

i tried it and it didnt seem to make much difference :(
