is there a way to start page number on a certain page?

ive got a document

i = titlepage - 1 page
ii = abstract - 1 page
iii = acknowledgements - 1 page
T.O.C - 2 pages
Report...

Want the number to start after the TOC (so page 5, but start from the number 1)
 
Check out Sections (Do a Page Setup, and then check the Layout tab)
You can then specify page numbers based on the page within the Section
 
Yeah, it’s definitely section breaks you're after.

I'm currently doing a report that has the exact same numbering requirement as you describe - a final year dissertation?

We were issued a sample report showing how to do the numbering properly - I can forward it on to you if you like.
