I need to redirect a domain name (let's call it http://www.mysite.co.uk) to a specific URL. The domain name is hosted by a hosting company and I get to use their web forwarding service to point to a specific location on a named server for which I have no control over its content. The problem is, I want Google to rank the "http://www.mysite.co.uk" site hosted by the hosting company so what I aim to do is to have a page on my own server as an intermediary which can then hold meta data such as keywords which search engines can rank and it can then redirect to the site on the other named server. I presume this will work just fine but can anyone see any holes in my plan?
IIS has a redirection facility which would be very convenient to use but actually gives no benefit as there's nothing to rank for the search engines.
