Pagefile question at start up

Hello guys ,

I have a fairly fresh machine here but i notice that after bootup the page file usage is 1GB already ??

Its used up half of my 1gb of ram pretty much too and its running 41 processes

Does that 1gb pagefile sound ok?

How many programs and services have you got running?

My machine runs around 50 processes because I keep a lot of applications like Photoshop running all the time and I only have a PageFile usage of about 600MB and I only have 512MB of RAM.

Try killing some applications in your System Tray.

Thats seems like another task manager.

Is there any way to see what is using up the 1GB pagefile on my pc at startup

Use Task Manager->Processes tab. Then View->Select Columns, and ensure "Virtual Memory Size" is ticked. Click OK. You should then have a new column in the Processes list saying how much virtual memory each process is using. Look down the list for processes that are using large amounts and they are your culprits.
